Eye-shadow Palettes too pretty to use… part 1

Who doesn’t love an eyeshadow palette?? Hands up if you are a sucker for an eyeshadow palette that you purchase and then are afraid to use… can’t be just me, can it?! Oh it is!

Despite having lots of make up I admit I am slow to experiment. I mean I love make up - one of my friends calls me the ‘product queen’ - I love to try out new products, but when normally I am getting ready to go out for dinner with friends it has become too easy to stick to tried and tested colours and techniques! So I have been trying to get out of my comfort zone and practice some new looks during quarantine.

The first look is one I just created myself, and one I have been inspired by RuPaul’s look. And to be honest, I still have not nailed it - RuPaul is glowing but that is why I have called this Part 1. I am sure there will be additional attempts!

To be very clear - I am by no means a professional MUA, nor do I want to launch any sort of YouTube make up tutorials. This is just something that I am doing for fun, for me!

Look 1 - I just used the HUDA beauty rose gold palette but to be honest I fucked it up with the black eyeliner. I struggle to do winged liner or liquid liner - so I am including it in all my experimenting just for practise! I even have one of those stamps and I am still terrible! I also only did my eyes for this look - and some lipstick! But I didnt bother with a full face. It was a Wednesday evening after work!

Look 2 - I mean just look at RuPaul and THAT glow!! Anyway I am not glowing nearly as much as she is - but it was a fun look to do and to be honest, it looked less crazy in the end than I thought it would. I would consider wearing this out! And I need a bright pink lipstick to compliment the look. I mostly have darker brown, more reddish tones!

I have no filters in either of the pictures. I brightened the one from Look 1 as it was super dark but the make up is as I did it! Colours havent been changed - as you can probably tell! I need to blend for longer than I think :D

Lots of things to work improve but playing with make up is a great way to improve skills while being creative!

Let me know if you have any looks you would like me to attempt - even if it is for comedy value!!
