5 tried&loved beauty items

During lockdown, I took the opportunity to start using all the products that I already had in my drawers - so many serums, samples, moisturisers, masks and cleansers (so many cleansers)… with lots of random eyebrow gels, mascaras… never been opened, let alone tried. So here are the five items that I would repurchase based on my experience over the last few months…

  1. First on the list is a mascara. I cannot remember how I got this - I think it was a freebie that came with a Cult Beauty (www.cultbeauty.com) order. It is from MILK and honestly I think it is great. It is the MILK Kush mascara; it has a super chunky brush, isn’t clumpy… I really like it. I am not sure it would be my favourite favourite - as I always go back to the Lancome Hypnose mascara but it is a really nice day mascara. (Am I the only one who has day and night mascaras?!).

  2. Second on my list is a hydration mask/night cream that I received in a Look Fantastic subscription box (www.lookfantastic.com) - AVANT Moisture Surge Overnight Treatment. This stuff is the bomb - I use it every other night and it has definitely made my skin more hydrated and plump! It is so rich, you really only need to use a little bit - which is good as it is quite expensive.

  3. Versed Hydration Serum with Niacimide is another beautiful serum that I have been really liking. I got this from Cult Beauty too - and it has helped with some of my hormonal breakouts and I definitely preferred it to the Niacimide product I was using before from ‘The Ordinary.’ You can see it is almost empty!

  4. Despite the fact I have so many cleansers, my favourite has remained quite constant with Caudalie’s cleansing oil being unbeatable for me. It removes everything - doesn’t matter how many layers of mascara I have on - no more waking up with panda eyes and mascara and eyeliner all over my pillow. It is super mild, you can use it on your eyes as well as your whole face (which is another bonus for me), and it does not leave that weird residue that I think some of the liquid eye make up removers leave.

  5. Jo Browne Hydrate & Healing serum - https://jobrowne.com/product/facial-serum/ - I bought this locally before lockdown and use it every other evening. It smells so luxiourious, reminiscent of a spa and I like to really take the time to enjoy the smell of this serum as I massage it into my face! It is retailing for €35 on the website but I think I paid around €10 for this at Meadows and Byrne. Also the wooden bottle looks so great on my bathroom shelf.

Of course not all products are for everyone’s skin, and just because I liked a product over another doesn’t mean you found the same… please let me know if you have tried any of these products, and what you thought, OR if you have great suggestions for me, let me know.
